Jewish cemetery at ul. Czerniawy was established in 1851 as the second cemetery in Kazimierz Dolny. It was founded on land donated to the Kazimierz kehilla by Motek Herzberg. The necropolis was almost completely destroyed by the Germans during World War II. In the 1970s, several hundred broken tombstones were recovered from the ground. A lapidarium and a monument in the shape of a cracked wall designed by Tadeusz Augustynek were created from them. It is intended to resemble the Western Wall in Jerusalem and symbolize the difficult and painful history of the Jews. There are several dozen tombstones preserved in the cemetery, the oldest of which dates back to the mid-19th century.
